Springs Arrival Great Time For Bass Fishing And Turkey Season Here As Well

Spring time is my favorite time for bass fishing. Turkey season is finally here as well.It was a very long winter here in Kansas, we had a lot of snow and it was very cold. I am so glad that spring has arrived and it is by far my favorite season for bass fishing, and don’t forget it’s turkey season. We have three ponds in our backyard that are full of fish and my son and I went down the other afternoon and it was a great evening for bass fishing.

Of all the outdoor sports fishing for bass is one of my favorites because of moments like this one.

We walked down to one of the ponds that is about 400 yards behind our house and when we got there I got my 4 year old son Noah’s rod ready for him and he started fishing. So I’m getting my rod ready and not paying attention to Noah and he starts yelling daddy, daddy! So I look over and his rod is bent in half and he has this horrified look on his face and he is trying to hand me the rod. I told him you can do it son just wind it in and he brought in a very nice 4-5 pound largemouth. He did it all by him self and I was so excited for him. It was just me and him and it was a moment that I will never forget as long as I live. Times like these are what make spending time with close family and friends so special, and I believe it is why we keep going back time after time. Once you get a taste of what the great outdoors has to offer you long to be there as often as possible. So if you get a chance to take a child or friend to the great outdoors do it you will make memories that will last a lifetime. Every day my two boys ask if we can go fishing when I get home from work. My 2 year old Sawyer was so mad that his brother and daddy went fishing without him the day Noah caught his big fish.

Has turkey season started where you hunt yet? This morning my two boys and I were watching cartoons and having breakfast when three big toms came right up to our house just outside our sliding glass door. I was able to get them on video.  There are a lot of acorns still on the ground and they were chowing down. Watch the video here: Turkeys_0001
